Stonemur Vineyards started in 2008 with our first vine plantings on the family farm in Bryantown Maryland. The farm dates back to the early 1700s and has primarily been a tobacco, grains, and livestock farm. The tobacco plants of old have now given way to grape vines.
The farm borders the Zekiah Swamp valley, part of the Wicomico and Potomac watersheds. Our grapes vines are grown on the upper part of the farm at an elevation of about 200'. With gentle slopes, our vines enjoy good drainage and lots of sun to make wonderful grapes for wine.
Stonemur Vineyards is a member of the Southern Maryland Wine Growers Cooperative, the owner of the Port of Leonardtown Winery in Leonardtown, Maryland. Port of Leonardtown Winery prides itself in using only Maryland grapes to make the best Maryland wine. All of our grapes currently go to this winery.
